Former President of Ireland Mrs Mary Robinson was presented with the Tipperary International Peace Award in November.
- She became Ireland’s first female president
- Mrs Robinson also went on to become UN High Commissioner for human rights
- She is now chairperson of The Elders, group of highly distinguished people, such as Bishop Tutu, Who try and help in resolving conflicts around the world
- Now age 75 years & a granny, She still has the energy & Enthusiasm to tackle Climate change issues, Which she stated simply causes more conflict in developing countries
Mrs Robinson stated, “Remember developing countries cause only 1% of carbon emissions in the world, but they suffer the most!”
